Pair of Vintage Ho Jo's Icosahedron Globe Lights USA
1960's
Genuine treasure from America's highways, a pair of vintage white glass globes from Howard Johnson's Restaurant. Each globe is an icosahedron (20 triangular sides) with one side serving as the 4 inch opening for the mounting hardware. Each triangular plane has applied colored plexi triangles in HoJo's orange and teal blue.
Can be used as either a ceiling mounted light or as a hanging pendant.
From HighwayHost.org: Rooted in popular culture, Howard Johnson's and its iconography has come to represent the golden (orange) era of Americana--prosperity, modernity, et al., -- notwithstanding the brand's current status. Featured and often referred to in media throughout the 20th century, the formerly Orange Roofed chain was once the epitome of modernity -- cutting edge in every way!
"Howard Johnson's -- An American way of life -- convenience, comfort and hospitality for the entire family, at home and away from home."
